On the Maltese Islands swimming in the sea is a pleasure. On the 22nd of August Dr Paul Scarrow is taking swimming that little bit further, in fact 5.5 kilometers further as he will be swimming the Gozo-Malta Channel for three Maltese Charities.
This event is being organised by Birkirkara St. Josephs Sports Club and Paul’s Fundraising activities are being co-ordinated by Rotary Gozo & British Residents Association members, Jan Scarrow and Marjorie Yarker.
Paul has been actively training by swimming at Ramla Bay, Hondoq and Comino. As well as swimming, he cycles and has an indoor rowing machine to improve stamina and endurance.
Paul works at St James Hospital in their Immediate Medical Care Units at Sliema and Zabbar as well as at Mater Dei as a part time General Practitioner in their Accident & Emergency Department. Throughout his medical career he has helped patients and relatives address their problems, treat and provide health care and has promoted health and fitness education. He continues to help those in need and distress by using his medical skills for the benefit of the Maltese people.
