This has proven valuable in a time when a place many may not be familiar with, Haiti, is in a time of dire need.

We highlight news of the spontaneous exhibition put on by the world’s top tennis players on the eve of the Australian Open to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti. The event was a boon to fans who got to see great players, for cheap, in a relaxed atmosphere, all for a good cause.

NBA and NFL – It’s time for all of us to play
Coverage of two initiatives, one involving the NBA and the other the NFL, promoting physical activity and healthy eating. In one, the USDA announced that it is joining the NFL and National Dairy Council’s Fuel Up to Play 60 anti-obesity campaign, while in the other, the NBA held its first ever FIT Week.

Adapted Physical Activity International Development (APAID) was selected as a finalist in a competition involving social entrepreneurs sponsored by the Unreasonable Institute (UI). Includes video about APAID’s bid to win a spot at UI’s Summer Institute.
