NBA All-Star weekend plans? On location in Haiti
During the NBA’s All-Star weekend, Samuel Dalembert, Haitian national and center for the Philadelphia 76ers, will be traveling to his birthplace to begin his long-term effort of building a center for children that will include recreation facilities, classrooms, a computer center and a cafeteria.
FIFA gives $3M more to Haitian Football Family
Football/soccer’s world governing body, FIFA, has committed $3 million to one of its members, the Haitian football community. The FIFA fund will be dedicated to assisting the Haitian football family in areas such as the reconstruction of the football association’s headquarters, technical centers and regional youth facilities and to supporting the association’s leagues and youth competitions by providing basic football equipment.
‘One Team 4 Haiti’ Service Trip – NFL players still in motion
The NFL Players Association is teaming up with Voila (the leading telecom company in Haiti), its parent company, Trilogy International Partners and in conjunction with The Jack Brewer Foundation (a non-profit organization founded by former NFL safety Jack Brewer) to bring NFL players to Haiti to continue to raise awareness and relief funds.

The ISDPA will serve as a framework to foster the intersection of research, policy and practice and will support the development of regional and national association structures.
The Spirit of the Games and its athletes
We discuss the promise made by snowboardcross athlete Rob Fagan of Canada to donate half of his winnings from the Winter Olympics to KidSport. KidSport is an organization that provides grants for children whose families are in financial need a chance to participate in sport programs. The promise, following on previous commitments made by Olympic athletes, represents the type of sacrifice these athletes make throughout their lives to achieve their Olympic dreams.
NBA All-Star Weekend. A time to REALLY party and do some community service
The NBA, its players and some of its business partners are once again involved in a number of community-oriented events leading up to and taking place during the League’s All-Star game weekend. The NBA Cares Community Caravan began in Philadelphia in ‘01 “as a way to involve current and former players in efforts to help those in each year’s host city.”
