Beyond Sport Awards – 1 month to get your entries in

The Beyond Sport Awards 2010 are open for entries for about one more month  –  with the deadline for applications on April 16.

The Awards provide support worth $1 million annually to projects across the world that use sport to address issues within their communities. The 2010 Awards will be presented during the Beyond Sport Summit in Chicago, USA September 27-30.Entry is free and the categories include a wide range of issues where sport can be used:

• Best New Project
• UNICEF Sport for Education Award
• Sport for Health Award
• Sport for Social Inclusion Award
• Sport for Conflict Resolution Award
• Sport for the Environment Award
• Sport Team of the Year
• Sport Federation or Governing Body of the Year
• Corporation of the Year

The Shortlist:
The top projects in each category, as judged by a panel of sport-and-development experts, are selected to make up the Awards Shortlist with representatives from each initiative flown to Chicago to participate in the Beyond Sport Summit 2010.

The Winners:
The winners in the six Community Award categories receive:
• Minimum $15,000 to be invested in their initiatives
• An extensive package of professional, technical and mentoring support tailored to the needs
of each individual winner
• Unique access to and promotion within Beyond Sport’s fast-growing global sport-and-development
network
