Nike and Ashoka’s Changemakers have again partnered up on a competition that brings together energetic, inspiring individuals and organizations and their local and worldwide supporters.  Building on the success of two collaborative competitions that have helped identify great ideas in the emerging field of sport for social change – “Sport for a Better World” and “GameChangers: Change the Game for Women in Sport” –  the Changing Lives Through Football competition was open to all types of organizations leveraging football (soccer) to help engineer local and global changes.

The scope of the competition was to identify innovative solutions that use football to strengthen community, accelerate development and drive social change.  Competitions like this bring needed attention to the efforts of so many worthy organizations. They also get these organizations to evaluate what they are doing, and how, to best position to excel in the competition. And we are all for that.
