A long trip home to do what is right

Mobolaji Akiode was an standout player for the Fordham University women’s basketball team from 1999-2003. After her playing days for the Rams were over, Akiode played for the Nigerian National Team from 2004-07, which included a trip to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

ESPN recently did a special report on Mobolaji, who through basketball is working to empower girls in her native Nigeria. This 3-part story was produced by ESPN’s Justine Gubar and narrated by ABC’s Robin Roberts. We highly recommend taking the time to view all three parts.
