About Us

Sports Doing Good is a property of The Kaur Group, which I launched in 2009.

Business Experience
I am an experienced business strategy and market research professional, who for more than 12 years has advised, alone and as part of teams, a number of clients, from multinationals to niche, fast growing entities on their most pressing and promising branding, marketing, strategy, and business development issues. Working with those in, and touched by, the world of sports business is the focus of what is done at The Kaur GroupKaur Group logo

We leverage skills in market research and strategic analysis, our deep knowledge of the sports and consumer sectors, and our strong connections with senior level executives at professional leagues, teams, and with service providers (law, finance), to bring to our clients opportunities that match up with their corporate mission and goals.

Before founding The Kaur Group, I served as a Research Director at Guideline, Inc., where I managed and developed relationships with over 100 sports, media/ entertainment, food & beverage, retail, and consumer electronics clients, amongst others.  I was fortunate to lead a great team that provided market research and insight on these strategic and tactical issues, meeting alternately and sometimes simultaneously the interests of internal and external clients.

Before Guideline, I was a Principal with Avila Parters, Senior Project Manager at Growthink Inc. and a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.

My Move into Academia
I am excited by my pending move into academia full-time. I have the honor of joining the School of Business at Farmingdale State College (NY) in Fall 2010 as an Assistant Professor. When possible, I hope to integrate Sports Doing Good into class discussions and when assisting students who are in pursuit of excellent internships and jobs.

For the past 6 years I was fortunate to serve as an adjunct professor. For 5 years I’ve taught entrepreneurship and business planning in the sports management program at NYU’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management. In the Fall of 2010, I had the pleasure of  being part of the community at St. John’s University, teaching “Philosophy, Principles, and Organization of Sport Management” an undergraduate class in the school’s sports management program.

Some personal info: I was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Rockville Centre on Long Island, played soccer here and there (still do). I graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a BSBA in Finance and earned MBA and JD degrees from Emory University. I am a proud and active alum of all three institutions.

  1. Yo yo. Love the new site. I wish it were around in college to highlight some of my student outreach efforts in the Tombs. Keep it real!
