Saban's group awards $300,000-plus to charities

Alabama’s head football coach Nick Saban has continued the charitable efforts he started when he was head coach at Michigan State.

Tuscaloosa, AL – Nick Saban’s charitable organization has awarded more than $300,000 to several local and state charities.

The annual Nick’s Kids Luncheon was held Tuesday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Nick and Terry Saban have distributed more than $1 million the past three years to 150-plus charities and organizations around Alabama.

They presented checks to those organizations at the luncheon.

The Sabans started Nick’s Kids when they were at Michigan State.

The money is raised through the annual Nick’s Kids Golf Tournament, speaking engagements by Nick and Terry Saban and individual donations.
