Things to see – The Blind Side; Invictus

The Blind Side, the remarkable true story of NFL rookie Michael Oher, has been on a nice run at the theater, earning more than $125 million in 3 weeks. Here is a short video from last year from CSTV that will surely get you even more excited to see Michael’s story on the big screen. And don’t forget, all of this came from a book – yes, that ancient art form! – Michael Lewis’ The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game.

And starting today is Invictus, another great story, this one highlighting South African rugby team’s surprising run at the 1995 Rugby World Cup. It is based on the 2008 book – it happens again! – Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Made a Nation.

To learn a bit more of the story behind Invictus, check out this excellent piece by John Blake from CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/12/10/invictus/index.html.

Enjoy both movies, and both books!
