Introduction
This week I had the opportunity to add two new sections to the first part of the newsletter, Events and Books. Both have great entries this week.

As I have said before, there is no shortage of good content out there, including events and books. The only real concern with adding more good content in the Sports Doing Good newsletter is balancing the extra content with our respective attention spans. We are all busy! But I am happy to include these sections this week and encourage you to check out both. In the future, Events you will likely see on a regular basis. Books, not so sure, but I will keep an eye out for it.

Three of the main stories this week involve tennis. Tennis has been in the news a lot recently. First, because of the U.S. Open. Second, because of the retirement of Serena Williams. Of this week’s three stories, one involves the retirement of another GOAT, Roger Federer, while the other two speak to the present and future of the sport, players Iga Swiatek and Frances Tiafoe. And frankly, that is how sports should work if it is to continue. While we should be sad about Roger’s departure (I am), we should be excited by the play of these two young stars, each of whom has a wonderful story. It is hard to imagine tennis without its greatest stars and the past 15 years have given us some of the very best the sports world has ever seen. Really, unprecedented greatness. So, while sometime soon we will also see Djokovic, Nadal, and Murray retire, in addition to Serena and Roger, there will inevitably be new stars like Iga and Frances. Oh yeah, has anyone heard of Carlos Alcaraz? ?

If you think others would like to receive the newsletter, please feel free to forward it on or have them contact us directly at sab@sportsdoinggood.com. (If you do not want to receive the newsletter anymore you can use the Unsubscribe button at the end of the email).

So, enjoy. And have a good week.

Our Website

More About Us
Our goal is to have Sports Doing Good be a portal housing original content and excerpts from and links to the increasing number of articles, websites, video, and other media that showcase the good in sports and society. We aim to celebrate those concepts, activities, events, and individuals by highlighting them for a wider audience. Much of the news today, whether sports- related or not, is incredibly negative and increasingly polarizing, biased, and quite annoying. We are trying to refocus some of the discussion on the good, with a focus on sports.

Our mission is to have Sport Doing Good be a consistent, and significant, contributor to the areas of sports, social responsibility, and development. We look forward to partnering with other stakeholders in producing content, in creating and/or sponsoring athletic and service events, knowledge sharing, and conferences/seminars, and even having a commercial arm that could be the source of innovative social businesses.

We invite you to send in news, press releases, and guest pieces for possible publication, and email us with suggestions about the content and format of the newsletter and Sports Doing Good website.
