WNBA Breast Health Awareness program, and more

From Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Daily’s Closing Bell, Aug. 7, 2009

“WNBA Lynx players will wear commemorative pink jerseys, shorts and shoes during their home game Friday against the Sun as part of Breast Health Awareness Night. Select game-worn uniforms will be autographed by players and auctioned off Saturday at the “Catwalk for a Cure” fundraiser at the Mall of America. The efforts are part of the WNBA’s Breast Health Awareness Program (WNBA).”

According to the WNBA website, “the WNBA Breast Health Awareness program focuses on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer in addition to raising funds for the initiative.” You can learn more about this initiative and the many charitable efforts of the League and its players at http://www.wnba.com/cares/.
