Ray Evernham is getting back behind the wheel to help raise funds and awareness for Shriners Hospital.

Evernham will race an Ingersoll Rand sponsored Super Late Model in the Shrine 100 on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC. All proceeds from the event will go toward Shriners Hospital.

Evernham, owner of Ray Evernham Enterprises and East Lincoln Speedway, is participating in the event to benefit Shriners Hospital and help prepare to race in the upcoming Prelude to a Dream” event on September 6, 2009, at Eldora Speedway, which is owned by Sprint Cup driver and owner Tony Stewart.

“My longtime partners at Ingersoll Rand have made this all possible with their generous support for this race,” said Evernham. “It’s an honor to be able to race a car carrying the Ingersoll Rand paint scheme to help raise money for the incredible work the Shriners do.”

The gates at Carolina Speedway open at 5:00pm/et and the first event begins at 8:00pm/et. Tickets are available at www.carolinaspeedway.net.
