Fun and Philanthropy in NYC

Our friends at the United Way’s Young Leaders Council are having a special event Saturday night December 12 in New York City, honoring Beverly Bond, a premier DJ, activist and philanthropist. You can learn more about the event at

As many of us know, the United Way has often collaborated with the NFL to advance initiatives for at-risk youth in the areas of education and fitness around the U.S.   The United Way’s fundraising programs and its community outreach events are well-respected in the worlds of sports and social responsibility and serve as models for other programs and partnerships.

Examples of such United Way/NFL initiatives in New York include the Grid Iron Gala,, a major charity event that raises significant dollar a year for at-risk youth in NYC; as well as the Hometown Huddle,, a day of community outreach and service.

So we applaud the efforts of another United Way leadership network, the Young Leaders Council, and wish them all the best on the 12th.
