Wanting to be "Unreasonable" – APAID

An organization we have highlighted before just contacted us with some good news.  APAID has been selected as a finalist for the Unreasonable Institute (UI). UI is a group that supports the work of young social entrepreneurs, one way being its Summer Institute.

APAID is one of 42 finalists who are competing for 25 spots at the institute. Let’s get APAID, which helps people with physical and intellectual disabilities by using adapted physical activity, to the Summer Institute.

According to UI, “We unite up to 25 high-impact social entrepreneurs from around the world to attend our intensive 10-week summer institute. There, we will incubate their ventures with rigorous skill training and expert mentorship. At the end of the ten weeks, we will connect our Fellows with the start-up capital and global network of support needed to give their ventures wings.”

Pierre Bataille, Vice-Chairperson of APAID, told us the following:

‘ As co-founder of APAID, I am very proud that our venture has been selected as a finalist. Getting into the Unreasonable Institute is a unique chance to catalyze the growth and the impact of APAID. It would give us the opportunity to enhance organization’s skills and capacity in several areas (e.g.marketing, branding) by working very closely with outstanding mentors (e.g. former director of google.org) etc… Our ultimate goal is to reach 1.000.000 people with disabilities through sports by 2020 and making the area of adapted sports for social change a major working area!’
