Helping Make a Difference – 2-week notice

On May 20, our friend and fellow Hoya Janne Kouri and his non-profit NextStep Fitness will be holding a special event in New York City.

The Second Annual “Help Make a Difference” will bring together community leaders, local businesses, those affected by paralysis and friends in support of a worthy charitable cause.

As you may not know, Janne’s story was one of the first we featured at Sports Doing Good. His courage, fight, and dedication to others have been sources of motivation to make sure we continually highlight the great work of such individuals, organizations, and companies.

NextStep Fitness caught the nation’s attention when it was featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America” profiling Janne Kouri and ‘Locomotor Training’, the cutting edge intervention, he helped bring into the community of paralyzed individuals.

Hosted by Christies, catered by Mary Giuliani Catering, and with a bar by Vermont Spirits, FRED Water, and Prometheus Springs, a silent auction and live music, there surely will be a great atmosphere throughout the evening. The event on May 20 is designed to unite the local New York community around an important cause, increase awareness about the lack of resources available for the disabled nationwide, and raise funds to enable NextStep to continue the services it currently provides to clients coming from across the country and to assist expansion to new communities.
