Helping one another all across the country

There are a host of difficult circumstances affecting people all across the country. Poverty, hunger, lack of education, etc. are not limited to a particular geography. We are a nation bonded by the good and the bad.

Feed the Children is one of the organizations whose focus is also not limited to a particular place. And that is especially important in a time when the economic downturn has hit people all across the country, at all levels.

In Denver, two members of the Denver Broncos participated in the Caravan’s stop in that great city. These teammates are representative of the time of joint effort we will need to help our friends and families.

“FEED THE CHILDREN GETS A HELPING HAND FROM MODEL TIESHEKO HOUSTON AND DENVER BRONCOS, RENALDO HILL AND AKIN AYODELE

Model Tiesheko Houston, Denver Broncos players Renaldo Hill and Akin Ayideke teamed up to help distribute boxes of food and personal care items to families in Denver, CO.  Each family received a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of personal care items, and a box of Avon products. The food drop, presented by Feed the Children (FTC) and community partner ABATE of Colorado, brought eight semi tractor-trailers filled with supplies to help more than 3,000 families in the community.

The initiative is part of FTC’s Americans Feeding Americans Campaign.   The distribution is the latest stop on Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 60,000 families across the country in cities that have been affected by the nation’s economic downturn. Feed The Children is planning similar distributions across the nation that will help at least 200,000 families before the end of 2010.”
