In just a few hours the selections for the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will be announced. (I  know, c’mon FIFA, stop making us feel old!! I will be 50+ in 2022.) The selection of any of the worthy candidates will set in motion not only preparation for the actual month-long tournament, it will set in motion a series of plans and actions targeted towards community development and outreach, infrastructure improvements, and diplomacy that will ensure that the time before and after the tournament establishes a lasting legacy for the sport and for the host.
